Halloween was very good to me! I used the opportunity to distribute demo DVDs of my movie company to all the kids that showed up at my door. I also gave stacks of DVDs to friends who were strategically placed around the Chicagoland area so that they could distribute my demos to their neighborhood kids.
Call volume and Web site hits have increased. And I've landed another great job to do a large-scale birthday party movie.
All in all, I feel quite blessed (and somewhat validated) that this idea is bearing fruit. LIke I mentioned before, I'm happy that I've found a way to actually earn money making and writing movies!
Perhaps this will lead to bigger things? Perhaps. But if it doesn't, I'm still going to be happy. Working with kids and encouraging them gives me a real charge. I love helping shy kids break out of their introversion -- and I love seeing the looks on their faces when the movie is complete!
Lastly... I wonder if anyone is actually reading my blog. Maybe I need more compelling content. I'll see if I can post my movies on-line here.
